Lucien Spelman is a Film/TV/Stage actor recently seen in principal, supporting, or recurring roles in shows and films by ABC/Showtime, HBO/Max, Paramount, IFC Films, and many others. In the 1970s and early 1980s, Lucien toured and performed with his father as a "prodigy" Classical and Flamenco guitarist, in the 1980s, Lucien studied acting under Bob Moss as a scholarship recipient for 2 seasons of NYU/Playwrights Horizon's Summer Sessions, and in the 1990s apprenticed as a stuntman with Rocky Capella.
He was awarded a scholarship by Bob Moss for Playwright's HorizonS SUmmer Sessions, and also trained as a Stuntman with Rocky Capella and the Bay Area Stuntman's Association.
As a director, he has won several awards with his semi-biographical short film "Whatever Happened to That Weird Kid?" and co-directed, with his wife Isabella Spelman, a music video for Robert Plant's song "Rainbow" which was hand-picked by Robert Plant to represent his song as the Genero spec contest winner in 2015.
He is recently seen as Charlie in the film “John and The Hole” Written by Oscar winner Nicolás Giacobone (“Birdman”), and directed by Pascual Sisto, JATH was selected as an Official Selection of both Cannes and Sundance 2020. in 2023, Lucien was seen as a principal in Season 2 of the hit HBO series “Julia” Opposite Sarah Lancashire, David Hyde-Pierce, and Bebe Neuwirth, and most recently worked as principal Kevin Faber, in the upcoming film “Sorry, Baby” directed by Eva Victor and produced by Oscar winner Adele Romanski (“Moonlight”)
He can also be seen as Roman in the film, “Jungleland” starring Charlie Hunnam, and directed by Max Winkler.
in 2019 He played, Joe. Jr, a recurring antagonist to Rosie O’Donnell’s character Tutu, in the Showtime series “SMILF” directed by Frankie Shaw.
